At Learning Tree, we believe in building a robust foundation for the early years of a child’s life. If the roots are strong, the tree will last for ages .Research has proven that vital cognitive and mental development occurs till age 6.We believe in providing the best possible learning experiences starting at a very young age catering to the individual needs of a child leading to a holistic development.
Our program is tailored to foster the overall development of the child ensuring quality, safety and increased focus on foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
Our vision is to provide quality education by endeavouring safety, hygiene and the best environment to foster overall development while we create elite thinkers and learners.
The key values that characterize all that we do are:
Collaboration is a must. Involving parents help develop more positive attitudes about school, have more self-confidence, and place a higher priority on academic achievement.
Holistic Development is one of our primary objectives. Using state of the art audio-visual aids, outdoor playtime and our Montessori curriculum will lead to holistic development.
Active learning is where we fit the best. Softplay, Legoboard, Sensory wall and Busy boards will lead to active learning.
Nature and Nurture are equally important in shaping a child’s future. Nature is inheritant, the way you nurture it makes an impact. We will make that impact.
Group activities enhances cooperation skills, conversation skills, inculcates values of sharing and fairplay. It enables kids to pool their ideas and see problems from different perspectives.
Extra curricular activities help explore different areas of interest, increase self-confidence, build leadership skills and even improve grades — all while having fun!
Thus we believe in CHANGE. A change in a way child learns, A change in a way the teacher teaches and A change in parents perspective towards child’s education.
Our curriculum is flexible, activity based, play based, inquiry based, theme based which will cater to the holistic development of the child. It is constructed keeping in mind the developmental milestones as they are a set of functional skills or age-specific tasks that most children can do at a certain age range.
Mahatma Gandhi- According to Mahatma Gandhi, education is that which develops the body, mind and soul of the child. We have adopted the craft-centered education from his philosophy. So when a child learns numbers or letters, its not just writing or reading, we will also have different art activities related to the same.
Maria Montessori- The Montessori method of education involves children's natural interests and activities rather than formal teaching methods. We emphasis on hands-on learning and developing real-world skills through independence by providing the didactic material. We know that children have an absorbent mind, hence we provide activities of practical life, sensorial material, language, writing, math, science and cultures.
Howard gardener- According to Howard Gardener-“We have this myth that the only way to learn something is to read it in a textbook or hear a lecture on it. And the only way to show that we've understood something is to take a short-answer test or maybe occasionally with an essay question thrown in. But that's not all. Everything can be taught in more than one way. We have adopted his theory of multiple intelligence where in we believe that every child learns in different ways. Some learn through music, some through art and some through nature. This approach states that every human being has 9 different intelligences or learning styles. This learning style can be nurtured & strengthened through various activities.
Loris Malaguzzi- He developed an approach called as Reggio Emilia Approach. We have adopted involving parents, providing open ended resources, relationships with the community centers and a powerful image of the child from this approach. We have Multi- sensory spaces, textures, color, sound and smell. All the drawings, paintings of the children are documented so a parent knows what the child has drawn which is a part of the Reggio Emilia approach.
Glenn Doman method is an effective program for dramatically accelerating your child’s growth in a joyful and loving way. This method helps in expanding knowledge, right brain activation and increase the speed of reading skills.
